History of the Property
This area carries a piece of Jessen's history. Once owned by the Fuhrmann family, the plot was used as a food warehouse under Soviet occupation. In this context, for example, a railway track was laid on the property in 1983. (historical documents available)
Sustainability
The area currently has no sustainability certificates. The following measures can be used to further develop the area:
• Photovoltaics: approx. 800 m² of the roof areas have a direct south orientation
• E-charging station: Installation clarified & possible
• District heating: A bioenergy plant is located in the Jessen industrial park, which currently also supplies the Jessen gymnasium with district heating – as the crow flies 280 m
Lage & Umgebung
In recent years, the city of Jessen has experienced investments in industry and commerce. An insight into the positive site development: establishment of Nestlé (mineral water), expansion of the dairy/cheese factory (BMI / Bayerische Milchindustrie) with investments in the millions, takeover of the stamping and laser plant by Festool (components for fuel cells). Jessen has schools (elementary school, secondary school, high school), various specialists and a medical center, several shopping facilities, a train station, a bus station, various leisure activities, agriculture and wineries, as well as sufficient nature to complement the historic old town with its market square and castle.
Regular passenger transport (train): direct connections to Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Dessau, Leipzig, Falkenberg – from Wittenberg (ICE) / Falkenberg to Berlin
Road: From Jessen, you can reach Lutherstadt Wittenberg within 0:25 (25 km); 1:40h to Berlin (110 km); 0:45 to the A9 motorway exit (40 km); 0:13 km to Holzdorf 14 km (air base/military, public transport to Berlin 1h); 1:30h to Leipzig (90 km)
